I love the title of Donny Duetsch's new book, "Often Wrong, Never in Doubt." What a great title.

Success in business and life is about 3 simple things:

1. Know your stuff! Whether it is your business, your job or your life. Know it, commit to it and be responsible for it. OWN IT!

2. Be passionate about what you are doing! If you know it, you can and will be passionate about it.

3. Dare to SUCK! Now you are thinking, what does THAT mean. Simple, by knowing it and being passionate about it you may be wrong but you will never be in doubt about it.

True success is about taking risks and embracing failure. The greatest lessons in business and life are the lessons learned from being wrong. If you want to succeed:

Own it, be passionate about it and dare to suck!

Doesn't everything you do have an effect on your business or/and your life? Agree? Disagree?

I'm in the business of turning around businesses and lives.

Have you ever had a situation where you like someone, want them to succeed yet they can't seem to GET IT or get out of their own way?

Business is about results (dah!). When the effort you extend to helping an employee is more than the result you are getting, it's time to cut the cord. It's about business, nothing personal. Yes, it affects their personal life but if you are in charge and you don't do something, it will affect YOUR business life.

Sometimes it is the best for them, nearly always it is the best for the organization. Follow your business sense and not your heart. I did today and while it was a difficult decision, it was the best decision for the FUTURE of the business.
